5 Tips to Shed The Pounds Fast

Let’s face it, we’ve all tried dieting and we’ve all had our mix of success and failures. But the fact is that we always gained back the hard lost pounds and the endless loop of yo-yo diets never seem to stop. 1 – Drink lots and lots of water. Research after research shows that drinking plenty of water speeds up your metabolism, thus helping you burn calories at a higher rate. There’s also the fact that water keeps you filled and drinking a cup of water prior to every meal will make you feel full while eating much less than usual. It’s free and it’s easy, so start chugging away.

2 – Don’t stay stationary. Move around even when you are watching TV, raise your arms and shake your hands and do not stay still. Get rid of you remote and change the channel manually. Use the stairs if you live in an apartment and try walking more instead of driving yourself to every destination. Get creative and keep in your body in constant motion to burn off all the excess calories.

3 – Embrace work outs. You don’t have jog for hours a day to get a good work and in fact, walking just half an hour a day can make a big difference in the long run. Don’t walk around lazily as if you had just woken up, instead speed things up and power walk to get a full workout in just 30 minutes. You can burn up to 250 calories per half hour of power walking, so in ten days that adds up to 2500 calories. That is not a bad number attained just by walking.

4 – Say hello to fruits and vegetables. Say goodbye to cookies and chocolates and instead get all the sweets you need from fresh fruits. Fruits will keep you full for much longer hours than the artificially flavored munchies and most of all, they are good for you. Stick with veggies for late night snacks and stay away from pizzas and sandwich. Stock up on carrots and cucumbers, they make great snacks and they keep you filled for long hours.

5 – Don’t skip any meals. If you are still trying to lose weight by skipping meals or by outright starving yourself, then stop it right now. You may think that you are losing weight very fast at first, but in fact that’s just water weight that you are losing. The body responds to your starving by making itself use calories much more efficiently. So the more you starve, the better the body gets in conserving calories and in turn, it will be that much more difficult to shed the pounds.
